The Progressive Stages of
Meditation on Emptiness X

Middle-Way Empty-of-Other:
Conduct & Fruition

Conduct

Beings are tormented by the confusion
Of clinging as real to the appearances of the dream-like imputed nature.
With a loving heart for them and with all kinds of  skillful means,
Conduct is taught as always benefiting others.

Fruition
Through directly realizing luminous dharmadhatu,
The confusion of the dependent nature,
Which depends on the imputed nature, ceases.
When the spontaneously present qualities manifest,
This is taught to as fruition, the unceasing benefit of others.

This way of gradually engaging in view, meditation, conduct, and fruition,
Has been explained here with few words and condensed meaning
For the benefit of those who follow reasoning.
By this, may all enter into profound mahamudra  and the great perfection.

At the Dzogchen Palace of Appearance-Emptiness, Sherab Lodro [Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche] spoke this extemporaneously, whereupon Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche immediately wrote it down.

Translated under the direction of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche by Tyler Dewar of the Nitartha Translation Network, 2002.
